First of all, congratulations to BlueThread Technologies for winning Microsoft’s “Innovative SharePoint ISV Award Winner” for their StoragePoint product at the SPC09!
A few weeks ago, they also released StoragePoint 2.1 with a set of new features and functions. However, it now also delivers a set of optional adapters for on-premise and Cloud-based storage platforms. The adapters enable SharePoint customers to relocate content BLOBs quickly and easily, without any coding or complex administrative tasks ...
The initial set of Cloud adapters include Amazon® S3, AT&T® Synaptic™ Storage-as-a-Service (which is built upon EMC® Atmos), EMC® Atmos™, EMC Atmos onLine Storage Service, Rackspace® CloudFS™ and Windows® Azure™. There are also adapters available for EMC Centera® content addressed storage (CAS) platform and Hitachi® HCAP.
Jon Martin, Director of Product Management and Marketing, Cloud Infrastructure Group at EMC said that StoragePoint’s plug-in adapters for Cloud—when used in EMC Atmos environments—offer customers a “cost-effective, flexible solution that allows them to easily manage their dynamic SharePoint requirements while benefiting from Atmos’ ability to centralize management and automated placement of information globally in a cloud enabled environment”.
