The Password Change Web Part allows ADS users or local NT users to change their own passwords in a SharePoint portal site without site administrator intervention or IIS expiration pages.
Features:
- Self-serve password change: Allows Active Directory (ADS) or Local NT users to change their password, using a standard text box interface (i.e., old password, new password, and confirm new password).
- Enforces company security policy: Warns the user if the password change failed and/or does not meet company security policy for both ADS and NT.
- Communication of security policy to end users: For both ADS and Local Server User Groups, the associated password policy text can be customized and displayed to the user through the Web Part user interface.
- Supports security zones: Supports multiple security zones and forms based authentication.
- Restricts users from changing passwords outside the domain: Includes options to lock and/or hide the domain and restrict the ability to change a password to only the currently logged in user account only.
