Simple Way To Improve Search

SharePoint lets itself down with the lack of functionality on the out of the box searching. Many customers are disappointed when they can't find words insisde words or cannot use wildcards.

Ontolica is reasonably priced and after a quick painless install can soon be adding a number of new Search webparts to sites.

Once you have played with the trial version you will want to keep this functionality forever.

One day Microsoft SharePoint will catch up but until then Ontolica will keep winning converts.

The ideal Search solution.

Mondosoft's Free Wildcard Version

I can't speak for the product since Surfray took over, but I've been using the free version that Mondosoft offered for over a year now and I love it.

Cons Sometimes difficult to understand how it's working under the covers
Profile attributes search syntax was not working OOB. Still haven't figured it out. I'm purchasing the newer version just to get support.
