Bamboo’s World Clock and Weather web part is without a doubt one of the most popular free web parts for the SharePoint community. But being free is not the main reason why this web part is so good. It addresses a pretty basic need that SharePoint does not have out of the box. SharePoint is collaborative software intended to bridge the gap between remote locations within an organization or a network of people. This web part delivers a nice GUI display of time and weather and it helps keep all users connected to each others’ environments.

Bamboo Clock and Weather SP2010

I recently installed this Bamboo web part on our 2010 environment. Bamboo has a nice install engine and you are able to install the webpart effortlessly in minutes. I installed both the time and weather as separate web parts on our homepage. Thanks Bamboo!

We've been using this web part almost from day one on our project sites. We put it on the landing page so the project teams could see time, location, and weather which helped for people travelling to and from project location. It is a simple part that fits a basic need and has been really solid.
The only issue we've ever had is that some projects are out in very remote regions where the location is not recognized, but generally the nearest public city will be found. Pretty slick.
Oh yeah, its free too!

Bamboo Web Part - I love it

We have developed a CRM Template that runs on SharePoint and include the Bamboo Web Part with every system. Our client's love it and it really adds some flair to the personalized home pages.
As our clients are both around the globe and sell around the globe the fact they can set up the locations that have meaning to them is really handy.
With an ever expanding global network of commerce this Free handy web part from Bamboo is appreciated by all.

For its intended use, this web part is great. I ran into no technical issues either deploying, configuring, or running it. The design is profesional and out of the box ready for use on, for example, a corporate intranet. It's now on CodePlex, part of the Community Kit for SharePoint.

Overall a good web part especially since it is free. We use it to monitor the weather at our 4 plant locations spread across the US. We have lots of travel between plants and it gives our users plenty of information to plan their trip.
