SharePoint AD Management Pack is a suite of four SharePoint administration enhancements designed to ease the burden of SharePoint administrators. Comprising of Password Change, AD Information Sync, AD Administration, and AD Self Service, AD Management Pack greatly boosts SharePoint administration productivity by delegating non-system critical tasks related to AD to users, and integrating AD operations with SharePoint.
- Gives AD users or Local NT users the ability to change their own passwords without administrator intervention.
- Notifies the user if the password change attempt does not meet the requirements of the password policy or has failed.
- Sends fully customizable email notifications to prompt users to change passwords before they expire and when passwords have been successfully changed.
- Manually or automatically synchronize user/computer information from AD and OUs to SharePoint lists.
- Supports customized LDAP sentence to filter information for synchronization.
- Delegate AD and SharePoint administration permissions and user management capabilities to specific users.
- Allows users to create, edit, rename, and delete OUs and AD properties, reset the passwords of other users, create and manage users and groups, and edit AD profile information from within a predefined OU in SharePoint.
- Allows users to view and modify their own AD profile information from within the SharePoint AD Self Service web part.
- Ability to set AD properties as editable or read-only.
