With SharePoint AD Self Service tool users can modify Active Directory information on SharePoint web part, and freely set which kind of information is Editable, Read-Only or Invisible.
You can add this web part to a page, on which you want users to edit their AD information, and configure it properly. After that, when a user log in and enter this page, the SharePoint AD Self Service web part will automatically detect current login user and domain, then retrieve his/her information from Active Directory to SharePoint and show them in this SharePoint active directory web part.
