AAOrgChartWebPart is a Organization Chart SharePoint Web Part with a very simple and intuitive user interface that allows easily search, locate, navigate and get essential contact information of employees and managers and find out reporting structure and hierarchy of an organization.

AAOrgChartWebPart consists of three connected web parts (Employee Locator, Employee Navigator and Organization Chart) that together provide main contact information and reporting structure of an organization.

AAOrgChartWebPart is an HR solution used to create corporate organizational charts based on XML input data. It allows you to automatically examine your current employees’ information in an outlined format in an organization chart.

AAOrgChartWebPart supports XML standard data format that can extracted from different databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2, and Access) or other files such as Excel. This allows organizations with different sizes be able to utilize their existing HR products (PeopleSoft, SAPs…) and provide input file for these web parts in XML format.

Overall a nice product that will fit some organizations requirements and allow for a quick implementation of visual organization charts.
The new 2.6 version appears to provide more features and better connections to Active Directory, eliminating some of the update steps involved with the previous versions.

Product Reviews

Pros XML input used to create corporate Organization charts is handy if you are extracting data from other systems.
Ability to utilize photos is a nice feature that is desired by most companies.
Nice feature allowing a link from the person to a site.
Employee Locator provides search capability for WSS users or MOSS sites without Search configured.
Cons Updates require access to server.
Organizational structure management could be made easier.
