Roll up from multiple Site Collections within your SharePoint Server 2010 or Windows SharePoint Services 4.0 (WSS 4.0) environment.
Sure, the Content Query Web Part 2010 by Microsoft has come along way! However, it still does not roll up from multiple Site Collections, yet it is still best practice to have multiple Site Collections within a SharePoint Web Application. Using the Content Query Web Part (CQWP) you can now add multiple columns. However, you need to type in the name of the site column, and you still need to write an XSL file capable of displaying more than one column. Using the Lightning Conductor 2010 Web Part, you can easily aggregate from Lists and Libraries from multiple site collections, and simply pick and choose which column you want to display be ticking a check box. This is a tue aggregation tool for Power Users that does not require your developers time!
